Politicians always grift, it’s just the nature of politics. Imagine a Politician that only stated facts, without embellishments or making promises they know they can’t keep, they would be boring and probably would never get elected.
But there is a difference between Politicians embellishing their accomplishments, and those that outright lie about pretty much everything. Today’s Politicians, mostly on right are made up of extremists, con men, and grifters of all sorts. The problem is, that there are many, especially MAGA extremists that can no longer tell the difference between a generally honest politician with good intentions, from bad politicians who will say and do anything to gain or hold onto power.
